Hi friends, Did you know September is National Self-Care Awareness Month. How good are you at taking time for yourself? I’m getting better. It not only makes me feel better in general, I feel like it makes me a better wife and mom too.
I thought I’d share with you the tools I use help my body detox. I get it… it’s not always easy to be “healthy”. Eating all the right things is work and finding ways to get enough sleep is work. But I promise you it’s all worth it.
I had to learn the hard way…. I was really sick with “mold toxicity” for a long time. I wasn’t sure what was wrong with me for several years.. until I found a functional medicine doctor. And now, I’m thankful finally healing. I put a lot of effort and time into learning the proper ways to eat and detox my body from the years I was around mold and ravaging my body. I’m planning on writing a separate blog post about my mold toxicity journey soon!
But for now… it’s a great self practice for us all to detox are bodies. We are subject to so many environmental toxins every day. I just wish I would’ve realized that sooner and started younger. But – it’s never to late to get started! Here are a few of the things that have helped me through my journey, along with eating healthy and taking the right supplements.
- Eating clean: I found out I have an extreme sensitivity to gluten. I’ve cut out almost all sugar, and eat a well balanced diet. And I only eat dairy on occasion.
- Infrared Sauna: I’ve always loved a good hot sauna, but it wasn’t till my Functional Medicine Dr. told me about “infrared saunas” that I realized just how good they are for your health. Actually, daily sauna use in Europe is quite normal, and helps improve your overall physical, emotional and neurological health. After months of research, this is the one I chose from Clearlight Saunas. And I love it.
- Detox Baths: I love a good bath. Hot soaking baths are not only for relaxation but also good for detoxification. I love throwing in some epsom salts. They not only help rid your body of toxins they also help you feel relaxed. So, I always like to take a detox bath before bed.
- Liposomal Glutithione: – This has helped me a lot. Glutathione is one of the body’s most powerful detoxifier. It can support healthy immune function and can neutralize a broad spectrum of free radicals.
