If you have a ripe bananas sitting on the counter, freeze them! They’re great to throw in smoothies… This Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Protein Smoothie tastes more like a chocolate peanut butter milkshake than something that’s actually good for you.
The frozen banana makes it thick and creamy, while the chocolate protein powder and peanut butter add a nice boost of protein. I like adding a little extra cocoa powder too because, in my opinion, you can never have too much chocolate!
It’s perfect for breakfast, after a workout, or when you’re craving something sweet but want something that will actually fill you up.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Protein Smoothie
Makes 1 serving
Ingredients
- 1 frozen ripe banana
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
- 1 Tbsp powdered protein peanut butter, such as PBfit
- ¾–1 cup milk of choice
- ½ cup ice
- 1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder, optional
- ½ tsp vanilla extract, optional
- Tiny pinch of salt
Directions
Add everything to a blender and blend until thick and creamy.
Start with ¾ cup milk and add a little more until you reach the consistency you like. For an extra-thick, milkshake-like smoothie, stick with less milk.
Add a Little Extra Fiber
I sometimes add ½ scoop of PaleoFiber to mine for an easy fiber boost. You could also add chia seeds or ground flaxseed.
