May always feels like the kickoff to everything fun — Memorial Day parades, backyard parties, graduation celebrations, bridal showers, patio dinners… and suddenly you need outfits for all of it!! Right? 🙂

• Start with easy basics like white jeans or denim shorts. I love my white jeans. They instantly make an outfit feel summery.
• Stripes, lightweight sweaters, and Americana-inspired sweatshirts are always cute this time of year without feeling too overdone. I love a good Americana theme.
• Comfortable shoes matter more than you think. Parade days and cookouts usually mean LOTS of walking. I found these Back70 tennis shoes at Knuth’s and love them!
• Cute sneakers or flat sandals make outfits feel effortless while still being practical.
• Gold jewelry elevates everything and instantly makes even simple outfits feel more put together.
• Have a few easy tops ready that can work for daytime but still look cute if plans turn into dinner later.

Graduation Parties, Showers & Outdoor Summer Events

• Wear something you’ll feel GOOD in for pictures… because there will be lots of them. 😂
• Lightweight dresses and comfortable fabrics always work best for outdoor events.
• Look for dresses you can dress up or wear casually later with sneakers or sandals. Those are usually the pieces you’ll wear all summer long.
• If events are outside on grass or lawns… flats, wedges, or block heels are your best friend. Nobody wants their heels sinking into the lawn all afternoon.
• Gold jewelry is also the easiest way to make dresses and simple summer outfits feel elevated without trying too hard.
• The easier and more comfortable an outfit feels, the more confident you usually are in it.
