Easy Taco Sloppy Joes
A quick, family-friendly dinner with taco flavor, mild seasoning, and a little salsa to bring it all together. Use the homemade seasoning below or your favorite packet.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef, turkey, or chicken
- 1/2 jar mild chunky salsa
- Hamburger buns, for serving
- Optional toppings: shredded cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes, avocado, sour cream
Very Mild Homemade Taco Seasoning
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch, optional for thickening
Instructions
- Brown the ground meat in a large skillet over medium heat until fully cooked.
- Drain any excess grease if needed.
- Stir in the taco seasoning mix.
- Add 1/2 jar mild chunky salsa and stir to combine.
- Simmer for 3-5 minutes, until the mixture thickens and the liquid reduces.
- Spoon onto hamburger buns and add your favorite toppings.
Serving idea: Pair these taco sloppy joes with a cucumber tomato burrata salad for a fresh, easy side.
